A whirlpool can be achieved in two ways:
- Option 1 - Attach a hose from the drain port on your kettle to a pump and then recirculate the wort back into the kettle’s whirlpool port. Most of our kettles come with two ports and attaching a side dip tube to the second port will help the wort flow in a vortex inside the kettle creating a great whirlpool. We recommend whirlpool for 10-15 minutes and then 10 minutes to let everything settle.
- Option 2 - Use a paddle to stir the mash for 5-10 minutes then let wort settle for 10 mins.
